Many of my writing projects channel my healthcare backgroud and/or my love of teaching. I've written a novel, a couple of health books, done articles for local newspapers, hosted a medical information website, and blogged for fun. Some of these I've done as a professional writer, some as a nurse practitioner, and some as a middle-aged woman crying in her root beer.
I am interested in contributing freelance writing to hard copy and online publications. I write comfortably about:
I am also available to edit certain types of projects, especially where you are hoping to enliven an article that has no bounce, or want input on a training session that doesn't seem to fly. I have a knack for lightening up dreary factoids and for engaging learners.
I am available for teaching and training on topics of communication, nursing, women's health, children's health, and general midlife experience.
My presentations are full of info, but wrapped in heart. If you would like me to present on any of the following, please contact me!

My personal blog is available on Wordpress as CommuniKate. I publish essays and other personal writing here, and you can sign up to follow me.
My novel, That Crazy Little Thing, is available here.
For some of my women's health writing, please check the About.com menopause page. (As of Novemer, 2015 many of the menopause articles on that site were still my work.)
