Many of my writing projects fall under the heading of, "Hey, look what I got to do!" I've written a couple of books, done articles for local newspapers, hosted a medical information website, and blogged for fun. Some of these I've done as a professional writer, some as a nurse practitioner, and some as a middle-aged woman crying in her root beer. My time is rather limited for taking on new projects, but I'm always willing to consider a writing assignment, especially if it's on a topic that I care deeply about.
I am interested in contributing freelance writing to hard copy and online publications. I write comfortably about:
I am also available to edit certain types of projects, especially where you are hoping to enliven an article that has no bounce, or want input on a training session that doesn't seem to fly. I have a knack for lightening up dreary factoids and for engaging learners.
On a limited basis I am available for teaching and training on topics of women's health, children's health, and general midlife experience. Because I work a regular job and have a writing business on the side, you will probably have to offer me something exciting -- like free yarn or complimentary eyebrow waxing -- to get me to do a teaching event. Feel free to inquire.

For some of my women's health writing, please check the About.com menopause page. (As of May, 2011 the writing on that site was still my work.)
